I can't be the only one who's seen the new Abarth commercial. Now they're offering it in an automatic. Next thing you know, we'll have dSg and finally they're gonna kill Manuel! Noooooooo!

I, for one, am okay with this. It means an Abarth could be in my future regardless of the wife's edicts like "we need an automatic because of my bad knee"

This is a very good thing for me. I have no interest in manuals, but I absolutely love the Abarth. This has now become my top choice once my current lease is over in a couple of years.

As a person who drove stick for 2 goddamn months with a broken hand, I feel its safe to say that a person can drive a manual without a right arm. Just no hoonage, unfortunately.

I thought it was already available like that since the start of the 2014 MY. And besides, the more 1.4T sales, the more you get to hear that awesome exhaust note. But do you think the automatic will save the Abarth financially?

Regardless, the engine/trans combo was already available on the Dart and 500L.

Well the automotive world is a world of compromise. If offering automatics save the Abarth then why not?

I love that they did this! They opened the market for this car up to a much broader audience.. Think now someone who wants a sporty version of a normal car but needs an auto has only one choice (Both ST, and SI are only manual) .
